i'm planning to study to program c#. but i'd like to ask if my apps have been developed using c# under windows 2k/xp and after making executable files, will it run under windows 95 & 98se??? because some pc in our office is still using windows 98se but pc (where i will develop my programs/ apps is using windows xp pro) will it work? i heard that i should install .net framework 1.1 or greater. can you give me some help? i am using visual c# 2005 express edition, is this ok as well?

C# applications depend on .NET, so they won't run if it is not installed. Your users should install the .NET redistributable package which they can download from here (or you can package it with your installer). It works in 98, not in 95 though.

Yes it will work on Win98,Win98se but not 95 but for database applications the performance will be very low, Unfortuantly Sql Server 2005 Express does not run on Win98 nor Win98se and even on WindowsXP systems prior to SP2 so i am using Firebird instead of it.
