There is a rumour throughout the net about Crytek possibly going bankrupt:
Also according to the following reviews, employees are not that much satisfied:
CryEngine is amazing, but this is not the first time something like this happens. I remember a few companies doing amazing engines in the past, then breaking down.
It just takes a couple so-so games to wipe out a company now days. I'm sure the engine helps. Look at Id after Rage or whatever it was. Pretty much wiped them out.
That's sad and this is a typical mishap for so many,as far back as I can remember; anyone remember "Descent 3 Engine?"; The two main gurus behind the Engine somehow couldn't work things out.The Engine at that time was one of the best put together all-in-one Engine. The impact went through the huge fan base(and still Fans play the game to this day from 1999 RELEASE). I personally think "Crytek" have been somehow over excessive with their development progression. They wanted so bad to compete with "Unreal Engine" who are veterans in the business; well, that's all good but "Unreal Crew" always seem to make these "Chess game" moves and never try so hard to over impress anyone rather keep intelligent pace in development as a whole. We shouldn't expect "Crytek" to admit as mentioned above.
CryEngine may look good on the outside, but developers working with it are not so impressed. And if your business is built on selling technology, you'd better make sure people want to work with that tech. When their only competition was the Unreal and ID tech suites, they offered a useful alternative, but now Unity is a real contender if you don't need the absolute top graphical performance and that has seriously opened up the market and brought licensing prices down. And that's bad news if you're not at the top of your game.
Couldn't simply "reply" to the thread anymore? Anyway, it appears the defecation has impacted on the air conditioning device:
@Sol_HSA There was an issue in the lounge that prevented new posts. It's fixed now and I merged the topics back. Thanks for pointing it out.
Seems like a strong confirmation. Will they try to deny that as well? =)
