Hi I am new here and I seek answers.
We are developing a game much like Soul Reaver Legacy of Kain or "The Devil may cry 3" type. At this time we are still in stage 1 which is the design stage. Stage 2 will be 3d modeling and programming. My q is...
- What type of engine do those games have?
- If you had to build one from nothing what is involved in doing so?
- How much would a programmer charge??

1.) you are probably best off with one of the main open source engines. the descision is pretty much based on what you want (terrain, indoor, etc.)
2.) don't try it if you don't know what it takes (at least not if you want to finish a game, of course you should try out as much as you can to get an idea of what it takes)
3.) probably too much (what is your budget ?)

There is no set budget. Is anyone intersted on taking on this game development. I need 3D moddlers, Texture designers, and programmers.

Unfortunately, skilled people are very hard to get to work for free, unless they have a passion in the project (eg the modelling of Lord of the Rings cities)

Isn't that the truth. I am grateful for any help in the matter.
