Thanks for the replies
It is, and will be safe to say my idea will grow and a team will grow along with it if people are interested. If it takes time (which it will) and you have support to back you
up ie showing your partner what you have and she loves it, then go with it...which will be the way I will be going from here on in.
You hear story after story, different things happen, because of different things happening etc etc.
Well I can assure you, unfortunately thats because you have negative people in your team or project. Mine will be different. Mine will be people who
want to do it. Why you might ask, and how do you expect people to come on board?
Firstly, I have an idea which is created around my life and a dream I had one day that did not leave me, and still hasn't. Medically, I have a brain tumour
in my left temporal lobe, study full time in Accounting & Organisational Behaviour at the moment and will be defferring due to awaitng a biopsy date this month, but the
main reason is my idea grows day in day out. New characters come. The course I will undertake will make me get to where it needs to be, and my will to strive and succeed
in games design will get me there eventually. 24 month course, fulltime, starting in September. A link: http://brisbane.qant...gb/course/2488/
All that aside, this is not a 'reach out and help me' post, this is a 'see if there is anyone who lives outside the payed area for the start and wants to work on something
interesting that could have the legs to walk in the industry' once things keep building. My artist is meeting with me tonight after band practice; yep, I am a musician as well
and already have paid gigs which is why I am not employed...and hence the fact that interviews with employers, no matter how good your resume is pumped up with your
experience, once you let them know you suffer from epilepsy due to the tumour by being honest and upfront, you always miss out on the job.
That is why I am taking the 'games design' course. Because 1. My partner earns too much for me to receive government help. 2. Accounting is leading me somewhere but not
where I want to go. 3. I have created a story that relates to me and have good vibes from my closest to continue on it, and focus on it. 4. Trying to get employed and be upfront
to a company letting them know I have epilepsy fails every time. Eleven interviews failed. Used to be a Warehouse Manager for 3 years. Last job left was a Supply Chain Coordinator
for IBM which I left due to not only finding out I had a tumour and being surrounded by negativity, but family issues happened last year as well, including my father passing away.
I guess you can tell that if you are a negative person, you will never make my team, whether it grows to payed, or is payed and noticed eventually.
So when I talk to my bassist (the artist) tonight, I will confirm here that I have ONE artist back here by Monday, and continue to see if there is any 'want' or 'interest' to see what I have
in the midst already. It is all in a Word Document so far, and the 'games mechanics' are the things being worked on at the moment, as well as extra characters and level descriptions.
