The article suggests IE 11 outperforms Chrome and Firefox in WebGL performance in everything, which is misleading. For the particular benchmark they're doing, a more accurate conclusion would be that IE 11 outperforms Chrome and Firefox in WebGL in pixel fill-rate. Nevertheless, it's impressive and I think IE is finally on par with the rest of the browsers in terms of performing well and conforming to open standards.
I haven't personally tried IE 11, so anyone want to share their experiences with it?

Impressive. It looks like we finally have a standard on all browsers.

Now, the second most important thing... Web Audio! That's the only thing missing on IE's radar, so that's going to create another divide until they jump on board with that too. You can't have awesome looking games with mediocre audio.

Yeah, count on Microsoft to leave something out. No matter what they say, I still remember the "embrace and extend" days where they pretend to join only to change the standards and confuse the whole thing.
