ATI has announced a couple of days ago the general availability of RenderMonkey 1.5. The RenderMonkey IDE enables shader production on any hardware supporting standard graphics APIs. It has been designed to meet the needs of programmers and artists, allowing both to collaborate on shader effects. This major update to RenderMonkey includes full support for DirectX® 9.0c HLSL and OpenGL ® 1.5 Shading Language (GLSL). It also includes a number of improvements to the shader creation workflow and a number of new features. The release also includes the RenderMonkey SDK 1.0 which allows programmers to develop custom plug-ins for RenderMonkey.
