I realize that we haven't been updating you guys with the progress of the DevMaster revamp. Things have been really busy, but rest assured we're working hard to put it together. There's a lot of new and cool ideas that we have that we'd like to incorporate. Obviously, implementing all the ideas at once will take a lot of time; to speed things up, we'll release the new website in phases. This will also allow us to get feedback from the community and support an iterative development process that adapts to your needs. Our plan for the first phase is to provide the following:
- News and articles system
- New forum software
- Completely revamped engine database
- New design and layout of the entire site
As soon as things look stable enough, we will open up the new website to our senior members for alpha testing.
Now for some goodies, here's a sneak peek of DevMaster's new proposed logo:
Feedback and comments are welcome.

I like the logo, simple and elegant
I think the "masters in game development" part is a bit cheesy though

Yeah, we got similar feedback as well regarding the slogan. Reedbeta suggested "mastery in game development", which I think is much better, which is what we'll be changing it to. Let us know if you have other suggestions.

"Master of your game development domain"
(A bad Seinfeld reference...)
The new look is clean. I like it. How about a version with a couple of recognizable video game characters?

I think "Mastering game development."
The logo is all right, but could also be a little flashier, like maybe a gold color for the dev part and possibly a more unique font with a slant or something.

Personally, I'm not fond of a catch-phrase. I think a stronger emphases on a unique logo and icon is much more captivating and appreciated. A text based logo is fine, but an accompanying icon would be a plus. I also love how Google toys around with their name on special events. Being able to do the same with the devmaster logo would be a plus. The text logo has thick enough font to do some interesting things, so if you pick an equally good icon to go with it, it opens up some possibilities.
Looking forward to all the new goodies.

Don't take this wrong, I'm a huge fan of Google and expecially android, but the
doodles (logos change in special dates) has been patented

And about the logo, I like it, but would be nice some kind of icon there, maybe to get a tshirt done xD

This just shows that if you show something to 10 different developers you will get exactly 10 different opinions because they're developers. Anyway, I basically like the logo, don't know if that came through on my opinion or not.

Yes, sounds like "Master of the universe".
Better to write just what devmaster is about. "Game development community" or some such.
