I am new to this forum, but not new to the gamedevelopment world, as I run a gamedevelopment company.
We are located in Romania.
There is a high piracy rate here, mostly due to the lack of outlets selling software. We are a few weeks aways from launching the first software online store, for the Romanian market.
The site is ready and working. We are just making some final touchups and testings.
If you have developed commercial games or software (for any platform), we would like to work with you an publish them here.
I want to outline a few quick facts :
- we only sell on the romanian market, so this won't interfere with other channels you might sell on. The site is in romanian, and only accepts domestic payment forms.
- we work in a non-exclusive maner. You are not restricted in any way by our publishing agreement.
- It's a good chance to enter a good market which develops nicely, but lacks sales channels.
We have a very friendly staff, with a high availability rate. Emails/calls/faxes/etc, are answered fast and reliable.
We offer fair comission rates, convenient payout methods, and no hidden catches.
As an extra, we will promote your site and products, on 2 portals we run, for free.
If anyone is interested, please get in touch with me by email.
I will present you the online store, some additional materials, and begin discussions.

Now why would a "game development company" open with a line like this? Probably no copyright attorneys in Romania either, huh?

Piracy's an international phenomenon. I think what he means is that most Romanians download pirated versions of games because they can't buy them in stores - not that Romania has more crackers per capita =D

Hmm... But is it really because there are to few stores to buy software? I'd rather think that it was because no one can afford the software. And If the software has western prices, it would be around a month's salary to buy a recent game! So maybe the distributors just choose not to sell anything in romania at all, because selling at low prices gives less income than not selling at all...

We try to offer the games (and software) at a lower price.
Attorneys won't solve piracy.
I always preffered to sell at a lower price here, then don't sell at all.
And no, a whole month salary for a game is not needed.
\\$5-\\$10 is a very reasonable and affordable price.
So, anyone interested?
And no, we don't have high minimum royalty payout amounts, or costy ones.
Basicly, we can offer payouts through PayPal and other cheap and convenient methods.
